2001 Academic Performance Index (API)
The API scale is 200-1000. Only scores for 2nd through 8th grade students who were in the district the prior year are included in the calculation. Statewide rankings are in deciles with 10 being the highest and 1 the lowest. Each decile contains 10% of all schools. Schools scoring 800 or more are not assigned a growth target, but are expected to maintain an API at or above 800.
