Kent Award - 2006
is presented by the San Mateo County School Boards Association in recognition of innovative teaching programs developed by a school. All four schools have received several Kent awards.
In Spring 2006, Hillview won a Kent Award for the Renaissance Faire, a social studies experience for our 7th graders.

California Distinguished School - 2005
The California School Recognition Program was created in 1985 to communicate and reinforce the priorities of the State Board of Education and the State Superintendent of Public Instruction. Each year, it identifies and honors some of the state's most exemplary and inspiring public schools.
Hillivew has received 7 Distinguished School awards, more than any middle school in the state.

Menlo Park Chamber of Commerce Acorn Award - Educator of the Year, 2005
Mr. Moore was honored by the Menlo Park Chamber of Commerce for his years of dedication to the students of Menlo Park

Community STAR 2004
Mr. Moore was selected as a Community STAR 2004 award recipient for his leadership, innovation and inspiration as principal of Hillview School for the past 19 years.

National Blue Ribbon
The National Blue Ribbon Schools Program, in existence since 1982, celebrates many of America's most successful schools. Its goal is to promote and support the improvement of education in America. Hillview was recognized in 1999-2000 by the United States Department of Education as one of the nation's top schools.
