Student Information Classroom Placement In the spring, grade-level teachers organize class groups for the following year. They recommend student placements for reading, language and math. In the summer, the Principal makes teacher assignments. The Principal assigns new students to classes when they register. Conference & Report Cards Report cards are issued three times, during the 1st, 2nd and 3rd trimesters of school. Kindergartners do not receive report cards. Students in grades 1-3 are graded with an S+/S/S- system while 4th and 5th graders receive letter grades. At the end of the first reporting period in the fall, teacher-parent conferences are scheduled to evaluate students' progress. Subsequent conferences can occur as needed. Kindergarten teachers routinely conference with parents several times during the year. See the School Calendar for dates that Report Cards are sent home. Academic Testing The following tests will be given to Oak Knoll pupils during the school year. Group results of the tests are reported to the Board of Education each year.
