How do my children get to school?
The District does not provide transportation. Most children arrive at school either by carpool, bicycle, or SamTrans bus. Oak Knoll PTA and Laurel PTA help arrange carpools at the beginning of each year. For Sam Trans bus routes for Oak Knoll (afternoon only), please visit the SamTrans web site. Hillview and Encinal have SamTrans routes listed on their PTO sites. |

How do I register my child?
Students should register at the school they will be attending. If you don't know which school this is, check the District Map or call the District Office at 321-7140. Children who will be age 5 by December 2 are eligible for kindergarten. A birth certificate or other legal proof of age must be presented at the time of registration. Children entering school must be immunized against diphtheria, whooping cough, tetanus, polio, measles, mumps and rubella, tested for tuberculosis, and varicella (chickenpox), etc. Also, proof of residence (a deed, lease agreement, rental agreement, or PG&E bill) must be shown at the time of registration.
Parents are asked to register their children as soon as possible to help the District with its class planning for the following school year. Click for more information about kindergarten registration, orientation meetings, and school contact information. |
